Fair Trade Jewellery

Fair Trade Design is a small individually run business which was started in May 2006 as a way to help raise awareness of fair trade and to sell some very beautiful and well crafted fairly traded silver and beaded jewellery.

Fair Trade Design is owned and run primarily by me; I am helped, supported and encouraged by my husband Rob.

For nearly 27 years I had worked for one of the largest global banks.In 2006, I made the decision that it was time to leave and try my hand at something new. Fair Trade Design was born from my passion in wanting to help people from under developed countries.

I realised quite early on that there are still many people who are unaware of the principles of fair trade and that there are also those who don’t know that every time you buy something that is fair trade you are helping someone somewhere.

I belong to the British Association for Fair Trade Shops (Bafts) which is a network of fair trade retailers across the UK. We promote fair trade retailing in the UK and seek to raise the profile of fair trade.
